Conflict management over natural resources capacity building program under the community-based rural development project

The purpose of this training manual is to provide a capacity building framework and tools to support the technical and operational implementation of the conflict management training component integral to the Capacity Building and Community Based Natural Resource Management Components of the World Bank-financed Community Based Rural Development Project. The initial outline for this training component was completed during a FAO mission in February 2005 based on a conflict management training package developed and tested in Ghana under the Livelihood Support Programme (LSP) sub-programme 3.4 “Natural Resource Conflict Management.” The training manual was designed and finalized during an FAO-World Bank cooperative agreement technical assignment in July 2006, led by Pamela Pozarny (Rural Development Officer, FAO Regional Office for Africa) with Bizoola Gandaa and Conrad Weobong, both from the University of Development Studies, Tamale, Ghana.

Ok so I am too tired to write anything intelligent … so here goes …my boy Forest Whitaker won the award for Best Actor at the BAFTA awards last sunday. Way to go Forest!!

And you tought you heard it all. Nope. Youtube is feeling generous and wants to share its revenue with you….(without the tube).

Think I am making this up? Here … see yourself.

Personally, I think the consultant taking your watch and telling you the time is pretty original. I mean you(sans tube) create the material and upload to the ..tube. Then Youtube sells a bunch of ads to other You’s who come in to watch your clips … perchance they might click on a couple of Google Ads and what do you know … you get paid a mysterious percentage of the loot! COOL!

Aw shucks .. where is that Sony Handicam .. I am off to shoot and short film … heck maybe even put in an entry at Sundance …

If you thought this online phenomena of virtual worlds is going away anytime soon, think again. Now you can get virtual news from a real-world news organization on a virtual platform …phew … talk about blending 4-d into n-d ..

Reuters is opening a news bureau in the simulation game “Second Life” this week, joining a race by corporate name brands to take part in the hottest virtual world on the Internet.

Starting on Wednesday, Reuters plans to begin publishing text, photo and video news from the outside world for “Second Life” members and news of Second Life for real world readers who visit a Reuters news site at http://secondlife.reuters.com/.

Google, the Internet’s leading search engine, announced Monday that it is buying popular online video site YouTube for $1.65 billion in stock.YouTube, which was founded in February 2005, has quickly become the most well-known of several online video sites. More than 100 million videos, many of which are short videos created by the site’s users, are downloaded a day on the site.
